The 7th Korea-Japan-China Jellyfish
Workshop Held in Korea, 20-22 December, 2010 National Fisheries
Research & Development Institute, NFRDI, hosted “the 7th
Korea-Japan-China Jellyfish Workshop” in Gyeongju, Korea, 20-22 December, 2010
to discuss on joint measures to respond to mass occurrence of jellyfish. The joint workshop
which was incepted in 2004, a year after the first mass occurrence of large and
poisonous Nomura’s jellyfish is rotating among the three countries to be
annually held. Main discussions
for the past 6 years were focused on jellyfish removing technology and genome
analysis and the three countries have exchanged jellyfish experts each other. They
also agreed to publish Korea-Japan-China Jellyfish Photo Dictionary. At the 7th
workshop, participants made various presentations on research trends of their
representing countries, jellyfish monitoring, jellyfish movement modeling
results, etc. |
