Greetings
We will create a global fisheries powerhouse through field research for future!
The West Sea is a sea area with high ecological value that has a wide tidal flat which is one of the world's top five tidal flats. It produces abundant fishery resources and purifies a large amount of pollutants, earning it the name "the kidney of the earth".
The West Sea Fisheries Research Institute is conducting various scientific investigations and research projects for the efficient management and recovery of fishery resources in the West Sea, and the development of high value-added aquaculture varieties and smart aquaculture technologies.
In particular, we are striving to increase the value of the fishery environment in the West Sea and realize a sustainable fishery industry in preparation for climate change by recovering representative fishery resources of the West Sea such as blue crab, red skate, and webfoot octopus.
In addition, we are striving to meet the people's various fishery resource needs by advancing and distributing biofloc technology for shrimps and developing high value-added aquaculture technology for a specialty of the West Sea.
In the future, the West Sea Fisheries Research Institute will do its best to further enhance the ecological value of the West Sea in the era of carbon neutrality and to be reborn as a global research institute that leads innovation in fishery science and technology through future-oriented advanced fishery technology research.
Thank you.
