NIFS, along with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration(NOAA), held the 16th panel meeting on aquaculture for Marine Science & Technology Cooperation between US and ROK in Jeju Island for two days from June 14.. Every year since 2000, NIFS and NOAA have implemented the Marine Science & Technology Cooperation, including joint research in aquaculture and fisheries resources, technology exchange, seminar, and experts exchange & training. Here are what have been designated as six(6) joint projects in the aquaculture sector using eco-friendly aquaculture technology: Joint research on the development of techniques for sustainable salmon; Research on fish meal replacement using microalgae; Development of eco-friendly technology for shrimp farming; Development of high density artificial seed-production techniques for oyster; Technology development for seaweed culture; and Joint workshop on sustainable aquaculture technology. |
