NIFS published a Handbook: Korean's favored 100 fisheries products with fatty acid information.

Fisheries products, the representative healthy food for well being, attract public attention as the food containing plenty of omega-3 fatty acid(EPA, DHA, etc.), which is well known for having the efficacy against obesity, high blood pressure, and hyperlipidemia, etc.

In the handbook are NIFS's selected 100 fisheries products, including squid and mackerel, along with the information of each product's content of 36 fatty acids (saturated fatty acid, monounsaturated fatty acid, and polyunsaturated fatty acid), the formation of essential fatty acid, and its ratio of omega-3 fatty acid, and omega-6 fatty acid.

The handbook will be distributed to the national and public libraries, universities, industries, and the common people (with limited number). Also, it is available on the NIFS's official website (www.nifs.go.kr/sfms) in the form of e-book.
