NIFS announced that it published a report on the "Research on impact of climate change to fisheries 2023." In the report, NIFS particularly unveiled the cause of the large magnitude and frequent occurrence of the high water temperature in summer and low one in winter, which takes a heavy toll on fisheries since the 2010's. Based on the recent research outcomes conducted by NIFS, the report contains the analysis for the impact of climate change on sea areas of distant-water fisheries and the cause of frequent emergence of shark. It also contains the projection of ocean leisure and seafood safety. The report was written with the advisory of climate change experts from agriculture, forestry, environment, disaster, etc. Also, NIFS tried to make it field-oriented by hearing the voice of fishermen and fishing community. |
