NIFS announced on November 3 that it won the encouragement award as it was designated as an excellent institution for sharing public works 2023. Hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and organized by the Korea Culture Information Service Agency, both of which pursue the project for active sharing of public works, the awards have been granted since 2018 to identify excellent government institutions, local governments and public institutions for sharing the works. This year selected four organizations in national and public organizations & metropolitan and provincial governments (minister award for 1, excellent award for 1, and encouragement award for 2). As the national research institute, NIFS was the only one to be included. NIFS was highly praised for its efforts and contributions for systematic management and policies for sharing the works by designating persons in charge and adopting Korea Open Government License (KOGL). 

* The name of 'open license for public work' is set as "Gonggongnuri", and its English term is set as "KOGL (Korea Open Government License". The KOGL symbol mark, placed at the proper location such as close to title or at the end of corresponding public work, indicates that the user can freely use the public work without worrying the infringement of copyright.
