NIFS announced that it signed MOU with Chungcheongbuk-do at the provincial office on January 12(Fri.) for active inland aquaculture and relevant industries.

In the presence of the Director of Inland Fisheries Research Institute(NIFS), the Head of Inland Water Industry Research Center(Chungcheongbuk-do), etc., the NIFS President and the Governor signed at the MOU signing ceremony.

The MOU was brought by the province's request for cooperation on developing alternative feed using ecosystem disturbance fish species such as bluegill and bass, processed fishery products and recipes to cook using inland seafoods, etc.

Through the MOU, the two organizations will cooperate on development of inland aquaculture and processing technologies, exchanges of researchers and scientific information, utilization of research facilities and analytical equipment, etc.

Given that the Chungcheongbuk-do has various inland fisheries resources including 746 reservoirs, the MOU is expected to create synergy in fisheries research of both organizations.
