NIFS announced its plan to host a meeting on June 14 (Fri.) with the Korean Seafood Grand Master to hear their difficulties in the field. 

The Korean Seafood Grand Master is designated to 11 people in 10 items including Jeju red tilefish. 

The Korean Seafood Grand Master policy is aimed at preserving and succeeding the traditional seafood manufacturing method. 

The grand master is designated by the Minister of Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries in accordance with relevant act of the Republic of Korea, after candidates pass the strict scrutiny including tradition, legitimacy, and protection value. 

The meeting at this time was planned to hear difficulties in the field and discuss policy measures to support the seafood grand masters including follow-up management of the products. 

In addition, capacity building programs will be provided with experts in the fields of food invited. 

The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries and the Korean Fisheries Association, which are responsible for the policy, will participate in the meeting and collect discussed opinions for political support.
